More Scrappy Mountains Quilts from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday, quilters! I have a couple more of the Scrappy Mountain quilts from our block drive to show this week. Both of these were assembled by Becky and quilted by Linda.

The multicolor thread Linda chose coordinates great with the colors in the top.

For the backings I used some donated fabric in navy and teal with metallic copper highlights.

I think Becky did a really good job choosing which blocks together and laying out the tops.

Thank you ladies! Everything is good here at the cat house. Stuart is getting to spend more time out in gen-pop. He ...

Happy Friday, quilters! I know many of you, like me, are looking at a cooold weekend ahead, so let's have some warm quilts.

The first few quilts from the Scrappy Mountains Block Drive are done and ready to show. These first couple were quilted by Kathy on her long arm.

Speaking of block drives, there's a new one at the end of this post!

Becky in South Texas has been a godsend to help with assembling block drive blocks into tops. She made all the tops in this post and chose the layouts. I think she did an ...

5 quilts November 22, 2021 from Making A Lather

We have spent the last few days cooking turkey. We decided to smoke one this year. I decided that if the price didn't drop below the price of a chicken, I wasn't going to buy it. We aren't having anyone for thanksgiving, so I would only buy one for the freezer. The price was good so Mr. Turkey is all safely gathered in for the winter. We have already had "leftovers" - sandwhiches - and soon, noodles. yum. I miss family thanksgiving dinners.

My 5 quilts progress report.

1.checkered past -The top is together and I am looking ...

5 quilts November 15 from Making A Lather

Hubbly and I attended a small quilt show in Indy Saturday, It was a great little trip that put us in Indy. It has been awhile since we have been to the "big" city and it was a bit overwhelming. The traffic and massively growing areas were surprising. We hardly recognized the place.

We stopped at a quilt store that I enjoy, and I was sad to see the cost of fabric has really increased. There was no shortage of options, and the store was busy. Now that we are retired, we avoid most places on the weekend, so it ...

scrappy mountain majesties ufo from Making A Lather

For  my Friday quilt group, I dug out another UFO with the intent to move it along. It is always fun to open the project box and stare at a puzzle. My paper work says I started in 2016 and that all the blocks are sewn. It was planned as a boy donation quilt.

Each individual block was sewn but, I needed to sew them into bigger blocks, which I did.

Somehow I ended up with unmatched extra blocks. I saw two options. Make a smaller quilt with what I had, or, go bigger and cut some more. I didn ...
